I am not surprised. Karen sounded so good singing this. I thought I'd vote for Linda, but then when I listened to Karen's version I was smitten.

Glad you didn't include Dianna. Don't care for her much and her version of this great song did nothing to change my mind.
I don't think I voted. Too busy worrying and not feeling well. I loved Karen Carpenter, so I probably would have voted for her. I have several of The Carpenters albums, purchased during my long-ago childhood. I love Linda Ronstadt, too, though. For some reason, I thought it was Rondstandt. I'm an idiot.

Karen Carpenter couldn't carry Ronstadt's mike stand. Dreadful and schmaltzy never understood Carpenter's appeal - her voice is like ice. Linda's voice is warm and beautiful. Your mileage may vary.

Okay back. Shucks, Karen wasn't my pick, but I'm okay she won. This was a battle I truly didn't mind who won (between Karen and Linda).
