Battle of the Bands Results: A Classical piece with classic results

Classical might not be everyone's favorite genre but it did create another close battle. No tie on this one. Like I always say every vote matters. This battle was decided on the ninth and final vote.

In the end the violin styling of Jennifer Jeon topped Lang Lang's piano 5 to 4.

here she performs "Ave Maria"

"Sad Romance"

Hope you enjoyed. Join me on the 1st for a Brand New Battle.

Story One: "God's Own Drunk"  Jimmy Buffett

Story Two: Bob Dylan "Hurricane" vey appropriate for Black History Month.

Story Three: Don McLean "American Pie"

Story Four "Long Black Veil" by Lefty Frizzell

Battle of the Bands: Minuet in G

My Battle of the Bands are sometimes rock, blues, country, folk, jazz or classical if you can classify them. Other genres represented as well. Many times the original strong might be in one genre but interpreted by artists in different genres. Today I am switching things up again with a classical piece.

The piece was credited to J.S. Bach for hundreds of years but in the 70s it was determined the piece was actually composed by Christian Petzold.

To reference:

If classical is not your thing it is a short piece and I will probably bounce to another genre next time.

Contender One: Jennifer Jeon

Contender Two: Lang Lang

Two different artists, two different instruments, one piece. Enjoy vote for the one you like the best in the comments and I will count them up and announce a winner a week or so later.

Battle of the Bands: Seminole Wind Blows in a Tie!

Shea took a commanding 4 to 1 lead in my Battle of the Bands.

JJ Grey and Mofro is "99 Shades of Crazy"...

They rallied back to tie it up.

I mean winning would have been the "Sweetest Thing"

Will I do overtime, will I do something different, dial in and find out on the 15th!

Monday's Music Moves Me:Songs About Love

Let's dance, rock to songs about Love. The theme for Monday's Music Moves Me.

Tina Turners asks the question "What's Love Gotta Do With It?"

Well I guess Queen knew we need "Somebody to Love"

Then we are silly like the Yardbirds "For Your Love"

The Who knew "Love Ain't for Keeping"

Because "Love Hurts" from Nazareth

There it is Love in five songs. Not a Taylor Swift "Love Story"

Hope you enjoyed see you soon!
