Monday's Music Moves Me: Unconventional Duets

Welcome to another episode of Monday's Music Moves Me. This a bloghop. If you want to see who else is playing or sign up to join the fun you can visit this site. I hope your minds are open to let your feet dance in this genre bending and swapping event. Today's theme is unconventional duets. The theme was Stacy's idea.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

Robert Plant will always be known as the singer from the legendary rock group Led Zeppelin. Alison Krauss is gifted with a beautiful voice whose music falls in somewhere in the contemporary bluegrass, country, category. The two musicians came together for a platinum selling, multi-Grammy Award winning album.

"GONE, GONE, GONE"

U2 AND BB KING

U2, the Irish Rock Band who fills stadiums with their tours, is quite different from blues legend BB King. However, they got together for a few songs and had some success.

"When Love Comes to Town"

Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney

A Beatle and the King of Pop together.

"Say, Say, Say"

Is Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana more unconventional?

Paul and Nirvana

"Cut Me Some Slack"

Taylor Swift and Def Leppard

Taylor Swift went from a Country Artist to become a Pop Empire. Somewhere along the way she teamed up with these rockers...

"Pour Some Sugar on Me"

I could go on and on but I think I will leave you with these five.

Great songs. We both picked Alison and Robert but different songs. That is one of my all time favorite albums.

Nice selections today! Def Leppard and Taylor Swift is definitely an odd pairing.

Some fantastic pickins my friend & your last one with Taylor Swift & Def Leppard, what an unlikely pair is right! LOL Of course, Paul McCartney and Nirvana is unheard of, but yet they did it. Oh well, great tunes too. Thanks for sharin' & joinin' us! HUGS

I absolutely LOVE the U2/BB King, Plant/Krauss, and McCartney/Nirvana duets! All the others are worthy unconventional duets as well. You shared some great music today!

Mike,

Gracious you came up with some really unlikely duets with your picks. I thought U2 & BB King was an odd pair until I saw the Paul McCartney & Nirvana collaboration and then just ehen I didn’t think it could get any weirder you put Taylor Swift & Def Leppard up. Furtastic lineup!

Loved your picks - you really found some good ones. My husband is a big Robert Plant fan (anyone connected to Led Zepplin, that is) and...I don't know what he would have made of this but I found it a fun song. My fave is Paul McCartney and Nirvana. Some really nice hard bluesy rock; it was wonderful. A close second was Taylor Swift and Def Leoppard; her voice blended in more than I would have thought.

Mike, you have some fabulous duets here! This was a cool theme and you did a great job bringing us some fun and energetic duets.
Love the blending of Robert Plant & Alison Krause. Great video: and I love those tall guy balloon thingys... haha
Taylor Swift and Def Leppard was a fun one too.
U2 and BB King: wow, all the way back to 1988! Bono was so young!

Thanks for giving me a great way to kick off my weekend...
