Prince was a pop star, a guitar god (when he wanted to be), he could be nasty, and he crafted songs that will be listened to for years to come. He was an artist who was always changing and he will be missed. "Purple Rain" came out when I was 13 and I probably were that cassette out a few times! Here he is circa 1985 performing "Let's Go Crazy"....

We've been losing so many great artists lately. I was shocked when I read this.
This year is starting to feel like "the year the music died". (Like "the day the music died". Only more drawn out.)
Such sad news yesterday! It was shocking to say the least. I was not expecting to hear that. Only 57. Am curious to see what the cause of death will be. I wonder if it was a heart attack?
Great videos you posted here. Last year when I was doing my A-Z on music, I had a hard time finding any Prince videos that were able to embed. Good job!

I am soooo sad!! I have so many fond memories of singing and dancing to Prince. Like you I had the cassette and wore it out literally and had to get another copy. Now if I only had it today and a cassette player...
