A to Z Challenge: Joni Mitchell

As many Joni Mitchell fans know the singer was hospitalized earlier this month. Since she has had health issues and her name starts with J she is my choice for my blog subject.

She is a great songwriter. To call her a folk singer would be an injustice. Her guitar playing which featured many alternative guitar tunings even influenced Jimmy Page. Her music stretched to other genres including jazz. She is an artist not just with music but with her paintings as well.

Here is vintage Joni performing "Both Sides Now"

Here she performs "Coyote" with Jaco Pastorius

An interview with her from 2014...

Below is her song "Circle Game"

I hope she gets better! Thanks for visiting and I will be back soon!

I hate she's having such a rough time of it health wise.

Both Sides Now is my favorite song by her.

I used to really like Joni Mitchell. So many good songs and a voice like an angel.

To call a lot of 'folk singers' folk singers does them an injustice - but yes, I totally agree with you re Joni. Here's hoping she recovers.

So sorry she was hospitalized. I didn't hear about that. She's still fairly youngish, right? I still picture her as young, anyway, although I know she's older than I am and I'm in my 40s!
