Best and worst remakes blogfest

I found another blogfest to keep my blog fresh. Their rules of the blogfest.

List the best remake you've ever seen and the worst. Bonus best and worst cover song.

Best remake:

Miami Vice

I am not sure this one counts. It isa movie remake of a hit tleevision show in the 80's. However, it is not a remake of any specific episode. I've been watching reruns of the show lately and have found the show quite dated. The show has an awesome soundtrack just like the movie. The show has more humor written into it than the movie. However, the movie is much more intense and has more action.

Here are some clips of the TV show put to the main theme by Jan Hammer...

Here is the trailer for the movie version...

Okay so late me pick another one...

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This movie is a classic remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Perhaps a bit darker. It remains true to the original story. Updated a bit. I've been lucky enough to watch both on the big screen.

Here  is the trailer for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

Here is a clip from Willy Wonka...

Worst

Can I start with all the movies being re-released in 3D. They aren't really remade.

Hulk

This movie was a remake of the comic book character and TV show about The Incredible Hulk. I remember watching this movie and being disappointed in the theater. Here is the trailer...

Okay songs covered is nothing new.

Worst

Jessica Simpson's cover of These Boots Are Made for Walkin'

The original Nancy Sinatra...

The Best

Jimi Hendrix take on Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower"

I mean it influence Bob Dylan to change the way he performed the song..Here is Dylan's orignal version

So many other cover songs I could list, some great, some bizzare, some different, some fun, and some not. I will be back with a new post soon.

Hey Mike! Sorry, your text isn't showing up against the background. Hopefully you said that version of The Hulk wasn't good, because I didn't like it either.
Thanks for participating in the blogfest.

I kind of guessed the text but it is practically invisible. Don't know if Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was in the good side or the bad. I put it in the bad. Thanks for participating!

I didn't like HULK either -- the Ruffalo version from AVENGERS needs his own movie.

I saw the other comments about text and that was the first I realised there was basically hidden text! hehe. I highlighted it and was able to read it :)

Totally agree on the Jessica Simpson thing!
