The Trade Deadline: One of Baseball's Interesting Days

Today is Major League Baseball's trade deadline. Sure trades can happen after the deadline but players need to pass through waivers. This is the time of year for the blockbuster trades.

The Toronto Blue Jays traded for David Price an ace pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. Highlights from 2014..

The San Francisco Giants traded for a Mike Leake a starting pitcher with a 9-5 record with the Cincinnati Reds.

The Giants and Braves were involved in a huge trade. Cole Hamels from the Philadelphia Phillies was traded in an eight player deal with the Texas Rangers..

What do you think the biggest trade was? What trade do you wish happened? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. See you soon with a new post!

The Braves trade was a three-way trade with the Dodgers and Marlins. The Braves sent Jim Johnson, Luis Avilan, Jose Peraza, and Alex Wood to LA primarily for Hector Olivera, a Cuban player the Braves tried to sign but couldn't afford initially (they let the Dodgers pay a huge bonus). I'm in Atlanta and have had to listen to other Braves fans whine and complain about it, but it was a great trade.

I don't know anything about baseball, but I remember my dad sitting on our patio during the summer, smoking his pipe, and listening to baseball games on the transistor radio.

Love,
Janie

Janie, glad it brought up good memories. I think baseball is well suited for the radio.
