It has been a big week of classic rock birthdays and today on my blog we celebrate yet another one. Today Don Henley turns 68 but he his not slowing down. After wrapping up a tour with The Eagles he is poised to release a solo album in September..

Here is a teaser from that album..

I will even share a new song featuring Martina McBride...

The album is called "Cass County." However lets get to "The Heart of the Matter" as we celebrate his big day...

Here is a perfect song for summer...

Well I wish him a Happy Birthday and I will be back soon with a new post!

I saw Don Henley in concert many years ago. He is originally from Dallas and when he came back on for his encore, he stayed on later than he was supposed to do. It was so awesome and we all got our money's worth that evening!
I saw the Hell Froze over tour with the Eagles and they were of course fantastic!
happy birthday Don!

Hi, Mike, and happy 68th birthday to Don Henley! I appreciated the video introducing his new album. Don remains in fine voice and, as he stated, he was joined on the sessions by a plethora of name country artists. Cass County sounds like a winner and a valid piece of work from a man approaching age 70.

"Boys of Summer" was one of the most popular videos played by the veejays at the MTV style television station where I worked in the 1980s and 90s. Iconic! Thanks, Mike!

Ah yes, "Boys of Summer" instantly takes me back to the summer of '84.

How can he be 68? That means I'm old, too.
