Monday's Music Moves Me: Songs of the Season

Today's theme for Monday's Music Moves Me is songs of the season which could be Fall or Halloween or both.

                                            Donovan :Season of the Witch"

Led Zeppelin "Ramble On"

Why that song?

"The autumn moon lights my way."

"Moondance" by Van Morrison

Eric Clapton "Autumn Leaves"

"Halloween Theme" John Carpenter

Halloween, witches, leaves, the moon a few legends that's a good recipe for Monday's Music Moves Me.

Monday's Music Moves Me: Songs About What I like About Autumn

I'm going to dance this week! Yeah, nay, and slowly move the fragile items out of my way.  Today's theme is songs about what you like about Autumn chosen by the lovely Cathy at Curious as a Cathy.

Summer officially ended this weekend. Where I live it still feels like summer high humidity, temps around 90, and evening thunderstorms. Schools started for the kids but they are already entering their seventh week.

Well since I am far away from the crisp, cool Autumn air which would feel quite refreshing right about now and the other signs of Autumn are so distant there is always music.

Autumn means football! What better way to start the music than with Kenny Chesney's "The Boys of Fall"

I do miss the leaves changing colors and was something I used to look forward too.

Doris Day with "Autumn Leaves"

I like the night air, great for a walk, or fitting for the 4Ms maybe a "Moondance" by Van Morrison

Sure I like other things about Autumn but these three songs is a good start. Thanks for visiting and I will see you soon!

The Doors Winner of the Battle of the Bands

In a close Battle of the Bands The Doors edged out The Shadow of the Knight 8 to 6.  The song was "Gloria" by Them featuring Van Morrison. When I saw the votes were keeping it close I was hoping The Shadow of the Knight would pull it out since I have never blogged about them.

Here is a live version of The Doors performing "Gloria",,,

The WASP....spinning another song on "Texas Radio and the Big Beat"

"Riders on the Storm"...

Hope everything is fine on "Love Street"..

I'll be back soon with a new post. On the 15th I will have a new Battle of the Band. For now the music is over..

Battle of the Bands: Gloria

I'm back for another Battle of the Bands. I decided to change gears this time around and go for some classic rock and roll,

I pit two versions of the songs together and you vote by your comments. I will be back six days later with the winner on September 7.

I found my inspiration from yesterday being Van Morrison's birthday so I decided to stay with him or in this case Them.

Here is the original "Gloria"

Challenger One: The Doors

Challenger Two: The Shadows of Knight

A song by a legendary artist Van Morrison with the band Them gives a great song for the battle. Then we have contestant one another Morrison, Jim and The Doors against a classic, perhaps forgotten band called The Shadows of Knight. I wonder who you will vote for in the comments.

Happy birthday Van Morrison

Today is Van Morrison's birthday. I am doing this blog from my phone so I appologize in advance for any errors or auto in correctness that may occur.

Lets jump right into the mystic..

Van Morrison has provided plenty of great songs through his career. I dedicate this one to my wife..My Brown Eyed Girl..

Hopefully I can get one more moondance..

Her name is not Gloria but if there a e any out there with that name here is a sing for them..

I hope you enjoyed your visit celebrating Van Morrison on his birthday. Come back tomorrow for a new Battle of the Bands post.
