I guess with Charley Pride's death my mind has taken a slightly country turn. 2020 has been a tough year. Covid would be the obvious finger point and then in the United States it was n election year. Personally it has been a tough year with my Dad passing and the other not so fun things going on in my life. Well time keeps going, and a new year is coming "If We Make it Through December."

Sometimes,okay a lot of times I have an idea of who is going to win the battle. I tend to go with this is neat, or this is a really good contrast, or I leave my audience wondering what the heck I drank. "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" is a great song. I thought Hank Williams Sr might lose in a landslide. Night taking away from his fame but his music does have a bit of twang in it. Elvis would be selling out concert venues today if venues still had concerts.
I was excited when the votes came in and Hank Williams took an early lead. The King of Rock and Roll was in trouble. He needed a rally. The Battle was close and every vote counts. The last three votes were for Elvis. The right Elvis, not that Costello fellow. (Strange votes do happen on here so it isn't like it is impossible.)
I mean Elvis Costello, his wife, and Willie did perform "Crazy" together. A couple of puffs on Willie Nelson's private stash they could have jumped right into "Bloodshot Eyes Crying in the Rain."
Reeling things back in the final score was 4 to 3 in favor of Elvis Pressley. The supposedly dead King of Rock Elvis Pressley has been suffering due to the Covid-19 situation since the restaurants he has been rumored to be working at since his death have been closed, hours reduced and other problems. Elvis has been working on new music and will be releasing a new album soon. You heard that here first!

Away from the laptop I am writing this post so I may have to revisit and edit later. Kenny Rogers the Country singer legend and sometime actor has passed away at the age of 81.
His death was from natural causes and not related to the pandemic. Maybe a look back at his amazing career can help us all.

Geoge Jones was a giant in the Country Music World. His voice and songs will be missed. Jones passed away last week. George Jones was born on September 12, 1932 in Saratoga, Texas he died on April 26, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee.Jones had 14 COuntry number one hits in his career, he was awarded a lifetime achievement Grammy Award (He also won four other Grammy awards), he was a Kennedy Center Honoree, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, The U.S. National Medal of the Arts, and many other awards.
I posted this video on my facebook page once I heard he had passed away. The song kind of fit. The question is Who will fill his shoes?

Last night I went to the sold out Alan Jackson concert, the opening act was Craig Campbell. You can read my review here. It was a cool country concert as Alan played lots of hits. My wife nudging and winking at me as he played "Don't Rock the Jukebox" since he says "my heart ain't ready for the Rolling Stones" my wife was poking fun at me knowing I am a big Rolling Stones fan.

I go to a lot of concerts. I love it when a show is better than you expect and that is what happened last week when I caught Martina McBride in concert. I wrote a pretty in depth review(wordy) here. She sounded great and David Nail was a solid opening act.

I was surprised to see Carolyn Dawn Johnson performing in Martina's band. That was a treat. The talented singer/songwriter added her backing vocals and guitar to the performance.
