Battle of the Bands: Treetop Flyer

I missed last month's Battle of the Bands I was travelling. January was a busy month so not much going on with the blog. However, it is a new month and once again a new battle.

The song "Treetop Flyer" by Stephen Stills

Contender One: David Jacob-Strains with Bob Beach

Contender Two: Jimmy Buffett

Let me know who gets your vote in the comments David or Jimmy. I'll announce the winner in a week or so.

Mike,

I want you to know you can link up your music posts with the 4M crew anytime. You don't have to play along with the theme but as it is this week is your choice so please feel free to join the party.

Now moving onto your battle at hand with a song I do not know. Based on the two contenders I prefer David Jacob-Strains with Bob Beach in this showdown. Good battle.

Whenever you get a chance, I hope you'll hop over to pick your favorite cover artist in my newest James Bond theme song BOTB showdown with A View To A Kill, my friend. Have a bandtastic day!

This is a new song to me. I've followed Stills for decades, but I guess I missed the album this song came from.

Both versions are well done, but I found the version by David a bit of a strain to listen to. Too much noodling around. Buffet just dug into the song and presented it in an appealing manner. Give my vote to Jimmy Buffet.

Glad to see you back with a BOTB installment, MIKE.

I wasn't really familiar with this song. And I'm not ordinarily a JIMMY BUFFET fan, but I preferred his slightly slicker production.

This is a really good battle because both do an excellent job but I will give my vote to Jimmy Buffet. he just seem to blend the song better...if that makes sense.

I'm going with Jimmy Buffett as well. He just seems to bring a lot more to the song than the other two.
