Monday's Music Moves Me: Random March Number One Hits

Today's theme for Monday's Music Moves Me is a freebie and I'm choosing number one hits in March. I am pushing the random, shuffle button on the way button and picking some number one songs from yesteryear!

The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go"

It was March of 1991 and the above song knocked "Do The Bartman" by the Simpsons from the number one spot.

On this date in 1989 Madonna took the number one spot for  three weeks with "Like A Prayer"

In 1986 Diana Ross topped the charts with "Chain Reaction" for three weeks...

"Easy Lover" Philip Bailey with Phil Collins

That song hit number one for four weeks in 1985.

Lionel Richie said "Hello" for six weeks at number one in 1984...

In 1976 The Brotherhood of Man had a number one with "Save Your Kisses for Me"

I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you again so!

Mike,

'Save Your Kisses For Me' is a song I'd forgotten. What a sweet tune for the ears after all this time! I'm not even going to listen to Lionel's song or it'll get stuck in my head all day. Even watching AI, his hit song plays in my head for days. lol 'Easy Lover' is a great song from the 80s. Now, 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' after hearing all these fine hits? Thanks for sharing the dance floor with the 4M gang. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

When you said that "Should I Stay or Should I Go" knocked "Do The Bartman" out of the #1 spot, I realized I had never heard the latter. So I listened to it. The Clash is better.

I love the video for "Easy Lover," because it's unique: a music video about making a music video.

All I could think of when I saw Brotherhood of Man was "United We Stand." Nice to know they had further hits.

Good set!

I headed right to "Chain Reaction." It sounds like the Supremes should have done it - I had never heard it and it seems it didn't get much airplay in the United States - too bad! I enjoy Phil Collins both when he was with Genesis and when he went solo - and it was nice to see Brotherhood of Man had something besides United We Stand. I've stayed and now it's time to go....hope to hear you again next week.
