Hard to believe it is the 15th already. It is time for another Battle of the Bands battle. Again I am going with a Holiday theme.
To get in the Holiday spirit I picked a yummy song "Christmas Cookies." The rules are simple I pick a song and present a couple of bands battling it out with the song. You pick the one you like best by casting your vote in the comments. The whys and other comments are always welcomed.
Please check out the other battles:

George Strait is hard to beat on this tune. Scotty sings fine, but my vote goes to Loose Cattle. I prefer the vocal interplay and definite go for the fiddle.

Gotta go with King George for this battle!! The Loose Cattle close second.
I know we're not supposed to vote based on videos, but... I'm sorry, the dogs just won me over :D Another vote for Loose Cattle (and kudos on their name... seriously, best band name ever).

How can I not vote for Loose Cattle when the video has doggies?
Love,
Janie
I can't comment here any more unless you remove the picture verification. It's too difficult for me to see the photos.
I'm going with Loose Catttle on this, because I thought they interpreted the song better. Scott McCreery, even with points added to even things up because of the lousy quality of the clip (poor audio and shaky video), just didn't quite capture the humor of the song.
And I agree with Janie, the picture quiz to prove I'm not a robot is a big pain in the ass.
Mike - I hate to say this, but if Scott McCreery's had been a better video, I'd have chosen him. Seriously - I have to go with Loose Cattle, and their loose cookies!
I prefer the 2nd version and not because of the funny video or because of the poor sound quality of the first but I liked the 2 singers together and the light-heartedness(spelling??) in their voices. I found their voices stronger and less of a twang
Happy Holidays Mike!!! I like Loose Cattle best of your two choices. Loose Cattle has a good sound. I didn't like Scott McCreery's sound so Loose Cattle won my heart. Plus the dogs swayed me, which should be no surprise there! Give my vote to Loose Cattle.
Hope you have a fabulous holiday season!

Thanks everyone for letting me know about the picture thingy. Hopefully it is removed now.
I love the King George version of this song and would vote for it if I could.
Scott seems to be a poor man's version of KG (a very poor versions indeed).
so give my vote to Loose Cattle. Their version was different and fun and enjoyable to listen to. also, I loved their video, even though that's not supposed to sway our vote.
I hate to vote based on anything other than song, but this time I simply have to. The sound quality and humour of the second (Loose Cattle) won me over.
Where can I get a pair of those baking hounds? I wouldn't mind one.
As others said, the poor audio quality of the first one (sounding like it was recorded in an echo chamber... or recorded by a fan on their cell phone at the concert from up in "Peanut Heaven") really killed Scotty's chance of winning this BOTB.
Just on clear quality alone I'd have to vote for LOOSE CATTLE. But even aside from that, I enjoyed their lighthearted duet.

MIKE, please get rid of the "Captcha" thing, if you can. It's a pain. I recommend either just leaving your blog open to comments, or using the "Moderation" mode, like I do. But "Captcha" is the worst of the three options for commenters, I sincerely believe. Thanks, Brother.

I just wanted to try this Captcha thing since I didn't notice it before.

Merry Christmas, Mike! What a fun song choice to feature on BoTB. I thought for sure, I'd pick Scotty, but I absolutely loved the playful vocals of contender #2. Give my vote to Loose Cattle, please!
Loose Cattle gets my vote! Something sweet about the harmony and definitely the fiddle.
Love this song, its just adorable. And Loose Cattle really hit that vibe with their version, video aside.
But ya know, Scotty has an awesome voice. Put him in a studio with a decent sound system and he could be a George contender. I'll give him my vote because he was very good despite the musical backup.
Merry Christmas Dude :)
Okay, the dogs won me over for Loose Cattle as well! Full disclosure here, though - even without the video, I would have picked this one simply because the sound quality was so much better. I know Scotty is a country artist, but I couldn't hear much of the vocals or music in his video. His would have been much better recorded, but I'm guessing like many other artists out there, this is probably something he just performs live for now?
But yeah. My vote is for Loose Cattle.
With that poor audio quality I'm afraid Scott just didn't have a shot on this one. Plus, the Loose Cattle version was really good (and different from the original). So, chalk one more for Loose Cattle.
