R.I.P Doris Day

Doris Day passed away yesterday at the age of 97.  During her long career as an actress and singer she has earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.

Here is one from early in her career "Sentimental Journey"

A look back at some of her celebrated roles..

"Secret Love" from Calamity Jane

She will live on in her recordings. She leaves behind quite a legacy on film and in song. She will be missed.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. Even though she was 97 and that is a long life, I was still shocked and saddened to hear of her death. I thought she would live way past 100. She had an amazing and unique voice that, if she didn't suffer a severe car accident when young, we may not have heard because she was going to be a dancer. She suffered abuse from her first husband and her second (or was it her third?) took all her money and left her almost bankrupt. She didn't even know he signed her to a TV Show which she didn't want to do. Her only child died which a parent truly never comes back from. I also love that she was such a strong supporter for animal welfare and made huge contributions to helping animals. She will be missed

Mike,

A lovely lady with a beautiful voice, so sad to see her go but she's singing with the angels now. RIP Doris!
