Monday's Music Moves Me is a freebie this weekend. Before I get into the music one of the regulars in the 4M rotation is in need of some prayers and positive vibes. JAMerian Spice could use some love so please feel free to give her an extra visit.
When I was really young one of the first songs I remember hearing on the radio was "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head." Well, Friday night BJ Thomas the singer/songwriter of that hit from way too many yesteryears ago was playing six miles away. My wife really want to see him. Well there were a few raindrops in the air and magic happened.
The venue was very intimate with a 350 person capacity.
Anyone remember "Raindrops"?
Of course there is always "Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song"
"Don't Worry Baby" it is all part of the plan..
Let's just sing a "Rock and Roll Lullaby"
Yes he sang all those songs and more. Hope you enjoyed come back soon!

Mike,
BJ Thomas had a mewsic theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN for years and even lived in the area. I'm not sure if he still resides near the Smoky's, though. I loved his mellow style as a teen. I always enjoyed listening to his tunes at bedtime which drifted me off to sleep beautifully. Thomas covered "Don't Worry Baby" the year DH graduated high school. We had been dating several months when it released in June of 1977 and perhaps this is why in many ways I feel it's my favorite song by him. :) I'm glad y'all got to see BJ in concert. Thanks for sharing some memories and the dance floor with me and the rest of the 4M gang. Have a good week, my friend!
Oh, yes! Raindrops is unforgettable. I didn't realize the same guy wrote all of these great songs. Thanks for posting!
Wow, so very cool. Thanks for sharing this. I bet it was a great show.
You missed my favorite BJ Thomas tune, "The Eyes of a New York Woman." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEgBRopw7j0
We've heard the first 2 songs. Glad you got to see him through the raindrops.
I like those songs and never knew who the singer was. :)
oh wow, never knew he had so many tunes... guess I'm just a listener you might say! Love the tunes you have here though... Thank you so much for sharing! BIG HUGS
I know all these songs but never connected them to the artist. I just remember them from years ago and it's been that long since I heard any of them. Thanks for featuring him today!
