Battle of the Bands: The Times They Are A Changin'

Sometimes you have to ask yourself what Bob would do. The Battle of the Bands being moved to once a month.  I missed the memo and since I did one on the first, I thought about sitting this one out. Then I realize I enjoy putting together these Battles. Life, work, writing, even the bloghops change. Heck even Bob Dylan changes his own darn songs.

The Times They Are A Changin' is the song this time around.

Don't vote for Bob Dylan version:

You vote for one of the two contenders below by stating whose version you like best in the comments.

Contender One: Bruce Springsteen

Contender Two: Billy Joel

Bruce or Billy let me know who gets your vote in the comments and I will announce a winner. If you want to hear some more Battles check out the other battles here.

BILLY JOEL. No contest. Social Justice Warrior snowflake Springsteen sounded like he loaded his mouth with marbles to try impersonating Dylan. To say it was "bad" is being very generous.

Actually, NOTHING has been "officially" changed. We had that poll and most people voted to go to one Battle per month (on the 15th). But everyone is still free to post Battles on the 1st of each month as well. It's up to each individual blogger to decide for himself / herself which schedule they want to follow. It just so happens that most now prefer the "15th ONLY" schedule but, MIKE, you can continue posting Battles on the 1st as well if you feel like it. I'll vote on those too, even though I won't have a Battle of my own again until the 15th.

I believe in individual liberty, so I would NEVER try dictating to others what they must do. I'm all about liberty and opposed to coercing others. This ideology can be seen in everything I say and do. It's the reason that politically, I am a strict Constitutionalist.

Henry David Thoreau nailed it:
"That government is best which governs least."

Yup, the majority of us are posting on or around the 15th, but there are still one or two of you that plan on twice a month. Just do what you are comfortable with, we'll support you either way :)

I'm voting for Billy Joel. It was a much cleaner version.

ps, what was the outcome of your battle on the 1st?

Since Bruce was annoying I place my vote with Billy. Bruce's version was like a bad parody.

I like both artists per se, but in this song, I think Billy Joel was far superior. So he gets my vote.
I'm glad you posted the Kennedy Center Honors clip. I keep meaning to check all those out. The Bob Dylan one was good, I bet. Will have to find out who else was performing that evening. Do you know??

Have a good week Mike.

I'm not a fan of either, to be honest, but at least Billy sings it, rather than shouting it. Billy Joel for me.

Sorry I missed this earlier! Hope I'm still in time to vote....
I'm going along with Billy Joel. Normally, I would prefer Springsteen, but he added some weird affectation to his voice. There's still time to check out my battle as well. Come on over!
