Battle of the Bands: Good Lovin'

A little late but here for another round of the Battle Bands. I pick a song, a couple of contenders, and then you vote for the one you like the best.

The song is "Good Lovin' " made famous by The Rascals

Contender One: Grateful Dead and friends

Contender Two: Tommy James and the Shondells

It is a fun summer song. Two different sounds and takes. Vote in the comments and we will have a winner soon.

I'm sitting out the 1st this month and next, but I'll be a-battlin' on the 15th of each month.

I was a big Rascals fan back in their days. Still like them. Tommy and the Boys do a fine job, but it's pretty close to the original. On the other hand, the Dead give the song a pretty neat twist. I especially like the percussion and the steel guitar.

I vote for Grateful Dead.

Absolutely Tommy James and The Shondells. The older I get, the less patience I have for The Grateful Dead.

I'm taking this round off, like Arlee. In fact, yours is the only Battle I've seen this time around.

MIKE, when July 1st came and went, I assumed no one was BOTBing this time around. Just now happened across this post of yours.

Obviously, I'm very late, but since no outcome has yet been announced, I'll submit my vote anyway for...

THE GRATEFUL DEAD.

I kind of liked the way they changed things up a bit -- all that "tinky-tinky-tink" stuffs. And did I hear a Steel Drum in there?

I was never a Grateful Dead fan so I go for Tommy James even though his voice sounds a bit nasally. I'm glad you did the BOTB. Oh and I had to go to YouTube and find the Grateful Dead singing this song there as it didn't work on your site:)
