Contender Two: Rage Against The Machine

Quite different takes of Bob's song! Let me know which one you like best. Enjoy the Holiday I'll drink one for you!

Battle of the Bands Results: No Sleepwalk in this 4 to 3 Battle

I've always enjoyed Jeff Beck's version of "Sleepwalk" by Santo and Johnny. I enjoyed this battle because I got to find a worthy challenger in Joe Satriani. I also enjoyed the opportunity to listen  to more Santo and Johnny.  I know I had listened to their version "Sleep Walk" several times I just never really dug into their other tunes.

                                                 "Flying in a Blue Dream"

"Summer Song"

"Satch Boogie"

Finally caught up!

Battle of the Bands Results: Prince is the man and nobody loves Diana but Elvis

It's a good thing Elvis Costello loves Diana Krall cause the jazz pianist got no love here. Prince on piano shut her out 5 to nothing. They were covering folk legend Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You." Jazz wasn't a stretch as Jaco used to play bass for her.

Prince was great at covering songs. If your wondering what would have happened if he played that song on guitar instead..

Maybe I should have done Prince versus Prince. When in doubt "Purple Rain"..

Back in "1999"

"Let's Go Crazy"

Well enjoy!

Battle of the Bands: Flight of the Bumblebee results

A classical song guitared up in three version is what you got in this Battle. Tap Master Jennifer Batton got 2 votes. Peter Luha got 2. The winners were Grisha and Gerome with 3. So the most classical won! But really close.

                                                         "Guajiras"

"La Vida Breve"

I will be announcing to more Battle of the Bands winners soon.

Battle of the Bands: Sleepwalk

Thought I would jazz things up on this version of  the Battle of the Bands. I decided to go with Santo and Johnny's "Sleepwalk."

You know the deal I come up with some contenders, you tell me who you like in the comments, and one day I  write a post and tell you who won.(I know I am running behind on that.)  Why not go with two incredible guitarists Jeff versus Joe.

Contender One: Jeff Beck

Contender Two: Joe Satriani

Hope you enjoy! Tell me what you think!

Battle of the Bands: A Case of You

Joni Mitchell songwriter, musician extraordinaire gives us the song this time around. "I Could Drink A Case of You."  Lets pit a jazz musician versus Prince.

The song for your enjoyment. Joni Mitchell 1'A case of You"

Contestant One: Diana Krall

Contestant Two: Prince

Okay this came out a little later. You know the deal pick the one you like and tell me with your comments. I pick a winner later. Diana or Prince. Two pianos, tow voices, one great song, two different versions.
