This blog spot is the home to my ramblings. I am a free lance writer. Most of my work goes on Associated Content. Sometimes I write what is on my mind, sometimes I plug some of my writing, and sometimes a combination of the two. So, sit back read, enjoy, and we will see where it goes.
Sean Connery best known for being the first and arguably the best James Bond has passed away at the age of 90. He was more than just Ian Fleming's character brought to life on the silver screen.
A clip from Connery in "The Untouchables" where he won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for best supporting character...
Below is Connery in "Highlander"
Here is his first scene as James Bond in "Dr. No"
A clip "From Russia with Love"
He was an icon, a sex symbol, an award winning actor who will be missed by his friends, family and fans!
There is a kind of magic about Queen. Over the years I have come to respect Brian May as a guitarist and Freddie Mercury was incredible fronting the band. There music appealed to me in different times of my life. Really, how many bands can appeal to you as a child, a young adult and a grizzling aging one?
I liked this song when I first heard it going to summer camp in Florida, my daughter who just turned six likes this song, and her brother who is 16 liked this song when he was young. Take a listen to "Another One Bites the Dust"...
And the biggest sports anthem...
Obviously I picked Queen to blog about today since the letter in the A to Z: Challenge is Q. Sometimes this blog is just a great exciuse to write about bands or musicians. In my college years, Queen resurfaced to me. The Highlander films were big with the crowd I was hanging out with. The epic sword swinging tale about immortals who could only die if their heads were cut off.The original movie came out while I was in high school but I guess it was kind of a cult classic. Here is the movie trailer...
Okay, I am rambling a bit. Queen provided the music for the films and put out a great album called "A Kind of Magic." Hence Queen's comeback in my life...
Then there was this song with David Bowie, which still resonates with me in today's world. It was older but thanks to classic rock radio stations it kind of made a comeback 10 years later or so...
Then Freddie passed away. Their was an epic concert. Whioch featured an all-star cast. Elton John, Robert Plant, Axl Rose, and more,,,
Then Queen tried to carry on with Paul Rodgers....
But the original Queen ruled even in Wayne's World...
Well thank you for taking a little journey through my life and Queen. I hope you enjoy and I will be back soon with a new post.
