Welcome to my Battle of the Bands for May 15th. The day is getting late and the 15th fell on a family day. Here are the rules: You pick the one you like best by casting your vote in the comments. I tally them up and I will announce the winner on the 21st. I encourage you to check out the other mighty Battles and if you want to join up details can be found here!
I am still stuck on Prince a bit. I wanted to pick a song to showcase his guitar talents since my last battle concentrated on his songwriting abilities. Some how my fancy turned to piano. Now I know my other contestant is known for her jazzy piano playing and has a few fans in the Battle of The bands network. Funny though the song is from one of my favorite songwriters who is quite gifted on the guitar as well. I hope you enjoy.
The Song: A Case of You
Contestant Two: Diana Krall
The winner is up to you. I look forward to your comments and I will be back with a new post.

Hey Mike. I'm going with Prince on this one. Diana Krall's version is good but I just liked Prince's better. It was more enjoyable and I loved the piano.

I really enjoyed Diana Krall's version. Great battle!

Between the two versions, I liked the overall package presentation of the Prince version best. Krall's version dragged on too much, while Prince kept the tempo going at a better pace with instrumentation that I found to be preferable.
A vote for Prince.

First, R.I.P. Prince ♥ That was such a shock! :(
For this battle, I'm going with Diana Krall, though. Love her voice!
Even though I find Diana Krall boring as watching paint dry, I'm voting for her just because I understood what she was singing. I like the styling much better of Prince's version but his singing killed it for me and not in a good way. I had a picture of him being hit in the nether regions to attain that high pitch and he was just crying out as a result:)
Gotta go with Prince. He was the king of cool!
Diana Krall gets my vote. Prince made my ears hurt.
That's my girl singing!!!
I'll give you three guesses which of the two contestants I'm going to pick, but you'll probably only need one.
Yep, I'm going with Diana Krall on this one.
I love her sexy and slow rendition much more than Prince could ever deliver.
I vote for Prince. He goes so smoothly from a falsetto to lower notes. I can't understand many of the words with Diana Krall.
Love,
Janie
Sheesh! What a question:
Do I vote for the guy who sounds like a girl?
Or the girl who sounds like a guy?
Prince sang some notes that put my ears through the roof and had the fleas leaping off my body and jumping out the window.
However, his version did, at least, have a rhythmic sense to it that was utterly missing in Diana's version. So... give my vote to the PRINCEss.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I want to vote for Prince, just because. But I think Diana gets my vote on this one. Kinda linking that rough quality to her voice.
Very, very good battle, Mike! I'm going with Diana, but it was a tough call. (And I still feel guilty voting against Prince, ha!).

Prince with that tremendous voice range never ceases to amaze me. This song was new to me. I experienced a melancholy feeling with Prince's version. Only recently have I listened to his piano playing; such a talented person.
I have to add this to my favorites. My vote is for Prince.
On a personal note: Prince's passing has been sad, and I'm listening to his music with a different ear.
Prince's changes in latitudes got on my nerve. Not a big fan of Krall, but she getms my vote on this one.
This was a hard one. Give my vote to Diana Krall.
