Jimmy Page stated in Japan he wanted Led Zeppelin to do a world tour. Of course he does! It's not like Jimmy Page has released a lot of new material lately. In the 90's it was the Page/Plant tours. Then he ended the 90's out with a live recording and tour with the Black Crowes doing mainly Led Zeppelin songs. Recently he appeared on a Jerry Lee Lewis album. Guess what? They did a cover of "Rock and Roll." Now Zeppelin are promoting their latest greatest hits collection "Mother Ship" and an updated "The Song Remains The Same."
If Led Zeppelin goes on a world tour, Page, Plant and Jones will make a lot of money. If Jimmy can keep the rumors flying about a possible tour it keeps the interest in Zeppelin high and helps increase their sales.
Then there is Robert Plant. He has a small world tour of his own brewing with Alison Krauss. The CD is selling nicely. The songs are covers, but they are new to him. They are new arrangements and it keeps with Robert's pursuit to move forward. Previous to this project, he had perhaps his best release with "Mighty Rearanger." The Strange Sensation band was giving Robert a push, to produce music which captured the essence of Zeppelin yet with a new band, without the pressure of the dinosaur. He could still push the envelope.
If they regroup, I think in Plant's mind their would have to be new material. Could these old mates regroup and move the old dinosaur to newer ground? Or would Plant become one of those singers he sang against in Tin Pan Alley"?
This blog spot is the home to my ramblings. I am a free lance writer. Most of my work goes on Associated Content. Sometimes I write what is on my mind, sometimes I plug some of my writing, and sometimes a combination of the two. So, sit back read, enjoy, and we will see where it goes.

RE: Days get better
So Wednesday wasn't that good. Thursday ended up being a much better day. I ended up getting a video copy of the Led Zeppelin reunion show from last month at the O2. I also received a collection of really cool music. Mostly old blues. It included everyone from Bukka White to Robert Cray and just about everyone in between.

RE: Bad Day
My wife called me today at work and said she stayed home with a sick kid. Wish I would have thought of that! Today was a tough day at work. Things just didn't go the way they were plan, and I work in the planning area. That happens, this is our busy season. You have days like today and hope you have enough great days to more than balance it out. I'm not complaining about my job, I'm just saying the way the day went. In any business or industry your bound to have a day that doesn't go well. Anyway after work, I headed out to the ski area for some race training. Make a few runs, clear my head from work, and everything should be fine! Well, I volunteered to stay after and help tear down the gates and stuff. Well, we put down our ski poles and did what needed to be done. When we got back to where we put our ski poles, the ski poles were gone. Then I looked at my new gloves, which were my Christmas present had a rip on a seam. Needless to say my day continued to go away from plan. Well today is over and a new day is starting. I'm hoping today goes a little better!
RE: Robert Plant/Alison Krauss Tour Update
If you noticed on the side I have updated the You Tube features to be Robert Plant/Alison Krauss feeds, replacing the Led Zeppelin feeds from the O2 reunion show. Well, I have more tour information. Tour dates for 4 shows in April have been announced. Knoxville, Chattanooga, Louisville, and Birmingham. Tickets same to be running in the $45-65 range.
Information for these tour dates can be found here! If your lucky enough to go I hope you enjoy. I'm still waiting for tour dates a little closer to home.

RE: Radio Stations
I listen to 2 different radio stations for music on my commute. One is a radio station out of Washington, DC which has changed its format from classic rock to bit of everything that rocks. It is a good mix of the classic, new stuff, and alternative songs. The other is a a new station out of Hagerstown, which plays classic country or the legends of country. Which is neat since they play older songs. Some of it has the rock-a-billy sound. However, some of the stuff is classic rock. The Eagles, Fogerty, Pure Prairie League, and Lynrd Skynrd.
I listen to a lot of different music blues, folk, rock, classical, world, country, techno you name it. The stranger it is, or stuff before I was born in general. Why do radio stations keep labeling themselves? Just break down the barriers and play what you want too. I know the closest to this would be something on NPR. I know its all about advertising and what sells. But if your going to jumble the genres you might as well go all the way.

Playoffs
Ok, I was 50/50 this weekend for the NFL playoffs. So far I'm 6 for 10 thruu the playoffs. Two of those losses are due to the New York Giants. They deserve the kudos, they played the extra playoff game in Tampa(I predicted that one), then they upset the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas, then they upset the Packers in Green Bay. They were 0-3 against those two teams in the regular season. The old cliche the playoffs are a brand new season does hold true for these New York Giants. The question now is can the Giants score another upset and defeat the New England Patriots?

Are you ready for some football?
This Sunday 4 teams fight it out, 2 will go home and 2 will move on to the Super Bowl!
In the NFC, the Wild Card New York Giants travel to the frozen tundra to meet the Green Bay Favre. Here is a teaser of my preview and prediction which is on Associated Content:
The Wild Card New York Giants are still alive as they prepare to clash with the NFC North Champion Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay. The New York Giants (12-6) knocked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-14 and defeated their division rival Dallas Cowboys 21-17 to earn a spot in the NFC Championship Game. The Green Bay Packers (14-3) defeated the Seattle Seahawks 42-20 to earn their spot. The two teams met in week 2 of the season and the Green Bay Packers won 35-13 at the Giants. The question now is can the Packers beat the Giants one more time?

In the AFC, Norv Turner and the San Diego Chargers got a big win in Indy and now face the undefeated New England Patriots in Foxboro. Here is a teaser of my preview and prediction which is also on Associated Content:
The San Diego Chargers earned the right to play the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game in Foxboro on Sunday. The San Diego Chargers earned it by being the AFC West Champions, and defeating the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. The New England Patriots earned the right to host the AFC Championship Game by going undefeated in the regular season and defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoffs. The two teams met in week two, and the Patriots won in a rout 38-14. However, the Chargers are a much better team now winning eight games in a row.

In other news we got some snow on our hill! We had a surprise dusting earlier in the week. Everywhere else had flurries we had enough to cut the road. Then Thursday we ended up with around 3 inches of snow.

Upset Day in the NFL
The San Diego Chargers defeated the defending Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts . However QB Phillip Rivers and RB LT were banged up. Not good news for a team that has to play New England next.
In the NFC, the New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21-17 in Dallas. This means the NewYork Giants will travel to Green Bay next.
So next Sunday it is the Chargers at the Patriots and the Giants at the Packers.

NFL Playoffs
Scores were off but I predicted the winners of Saturdays playoff games. So far my predictions for the playoffs are 5 for 6. 2 more games left this weekend then we are down to only 4 teams.
Will the Patriots go undefeated? 17-0 and still counting. Will the Colts repeat? It is still possible. Who will the Packers face? Cowboys and Giants play Sunday in Dallas. Fun time of year for the NFL.
