Battle of the Bands: Rocktober War Pigs

It is Roctober and time to rock out a bit. Little by little getting back into the Battle of the Bands thing. October was once referred to Rocktober by a local radio station and I am sure they borrowed that from someone. Rock and October kind of go together. Anyway, with the recent passing of Ozzy Osbourne it also marked the end of the road for Black Sabbath. Tipping the hat in tribute this month's song is "War Pigs."

The original above. I will now select two challengers and you my wonderful readers. viewers get to select the winner by telling me which one you liked the best.

                                             Contender One: Samantha Fish

Contender Two: Gov't Mule

We got a great battle of guitars. The Blue Rockin' Samantha Fish showing girls can rock out! In the other corner Jam Band Warren Haynes led Gov't Mule.
Don't be shy tell me which one rocked the best for you in the concerts.

Thanks I will be back with a results post in a week or so!

Giveaway or Book Exchange?

I have a duplicate of a book that I am reading. I was thinking about either doing a giveaway on my blog or starting a book exchange. It could grow into a somewhat regular thing.

I am just throwing ideas out about my blog. Am I behind the times and no one reads regular books anymore? If I did a giveaway what is the fairest and easiest way to run one? What do you think of the book exchange or book trade?

Please let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for visiting and I will see you soon!

A to Z: Gators

Near the end of last month my daughter had her Spring Break. I knew she hadn't had a big Spring Break but I had a day off during the week to make her Spring Break special. A day that would feature, Gators big ole Alligators!

Image may contain: 1 person, standing, child and outdoor

She is always happy to hold a baby..

Image may contain: one or more people, people standing, grass, child, tree, outdoor and nature

My advice on handling alligators: It is better to hold an alligator, than to have a Gator hold you!

Image may contain: outdoor

The alligator  pictures came from Alligator Alley in Alabama. If you are in Southern Alabama check them out. There site is here. More A to Z on Monday!

A to Z Challenge: Catfish

My post is a little late. My daughter did not have school today and I was off from my day(evening/night) job. So, I took my daughter out to one of my favorite bayous where I was having some luck of late to try and catch her a fish.

A view from the Bayou..

Luck wasn't on our side at the bayou. However that was fishing wise. Sharing a picnic lunch with my daughter, seeing an Osprey, turtles and spending quality time of course makes me very lucky. I made the call to go to the catfish farm about an hour drive from where we were..

The drive was through the countryside so we had plenty of rivers to cross and plenty of horse farms. My daughter loves animals so seeing horses was a small bonus,

When we reached our destination we were joined by another fishing enthusiast.

That is a Bald Eagle.

Now the mission was for my daughter to catch a fish and she did!

She ended up catching a 19" catfish, which she reminded me is an inch bigger than my big catch of the day. However, it was worth this smile..

After all that is what fishing is all about, the big smile!  I was going to get a picture of her holding it which she tried but did not have success. Now I am enjoying a big catfish feast! I will be back with a post related to D.

Truthpaste at the MET in Frederick

Friday I went to the premiere of Truthpaste: A Blotto Biography by Tad Janes. What is Truthpaste? Janes plays eight different people in this commedy. I wouild call it one person skit-humor.More thought out than improv theatre but along the lines of Saturday Night Live skits. Not politically correct but funny as heck!
You can read my review here.

It plays this weekend at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre in downtown Frederick, Maryland.
they have been putting out a lot of god stuff this season!

A to Z: Vacation

I earn a lot of paid time off at my day job. It is better than the pay and the benefits. But I haven't been on a vacation since last year when I went to Wanee.(Yes, I did write about it). My daycare provider is out becuase she had her baby so I did get to take a couple of days off last week to spend with my daughter. However, my daughter spent the first week with my parents nearby. Now she went on a road trip with them for a few days. I'm envious I want a road trip...

But really, I pack a lot of fun in my life. Tons of concerts, musicals, plays, a few sporting events. I really can't complain. I'm just saying a vacation sounds really nice!

Maybe like this...

A theme song for today's blog..

Anyway the weekend is getting closer!
