Monday's Music Moves Me: TV themes specifically from my childhood!

I missed last weeks 4m! Life happened and it ended up being a really good day. Filled with adventure, sun, rainbows, a boat and a few friends. Anyway I am back for this round. This week's theme is "TV/Movie themes specifically from my childhood." Let me get into my secret time machine and travel way back in time.

I'll start off with my childhood forbidden fruit "Baa Baa Black Sheep"..

My Mom wouldn't let me watch this show and I tried hard to wheel and deal to watch it. I think some of it may have been the air time was past my bed time.

I have plenty of memories of watching westerns with my Grandparents...

"Rawhide" was one of my favorites..

I did watch children's show like "Mr Rogers"

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my back pages of my old TV guide.

Battle of the Bands: I'm Still Standing

Elton John won my last Battle of the Bands and I really didn't have a song in mind for this round. So, I decided I would use the winner for inspiration. Elton John has had a long, successful career filled with a ton of songs.

The song for this round is "I'm Still Standing."

Contender One: Martha Wash

Contender Two: Taron Egerton

Both of my covers can be found on movie soundtracks. Martha's on The First Wives Club and Sing! Also all three of the versions on this blog are lyric videos. Another random set of coincidences is the voting is done in the comments. You pick your favorite from the two contenders and I tally the votes and announce a winner sometime before Christmas I mean July 1st. Hope you enjoy the battle and I will have another post up soon!

Battle of the Bands: From shutouts to nailbiters

Well my streak of shutouts ended on this last round of Battle of the Bands. Every vote counted and this battle was decided by the last vote. Elton John edged out Neil Young 4 to 3. The song was John Lennon's "Imagine."

Celebrating Elton's big win with "I'm Still Standing"

Continuing the party with "Rocket Man"

                                                 "Tiny Dancer"

I wonder what my battle will be tomorrow?

Dwight Clark will always be remembered for "The Catch." The 49ers hero played in the NFLZ from 1979 to 1987 all with the same team. Honored by the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame and the Clemson Hall of Fame.

He was part of two Super Bowl Champion teams in San Francisco and was a two time Pro Bowler. His number long retired by the 49ers.

He passed away yesterday due to ALS. He will be missed by fans, family and business partners.

Battle of the Bands: Imagine there is no shutouts!

Well I am starting the quest to end the shutout streak or extended by picking a classic song. "Imagine" by John Lennon I am surprised I haven't used this one yet.

Contender One: Neil Young

   Contender Two: Elton John

Two emotional live covers. Two great artists. You know the drill vote in the comments!
