This week's theme is Patriotic Songs for the 4th of July for Monday's Music Moves Me. I'm participating this week so let's get started.

Ladies and Gentleman The Star Spangled Banner performed by Jimi Hendrix..

The Grateful Dead "U.S. Blues"

One of the best blues men out there today Keb' Mo' with his version of "America The Beautiful"

Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA"

"Stars and Stripes Forever" performed by the U.S. Army...

Hope you enjoyed! I wish you a safe and fun filled 4th of July.

Mike,

You have some great classics. Keb Mo's bluesy rendition of"American the Beautiful" stirred my heart and patriotism to the land that I love! Thanks for the introduction of Grateful Dead's "U.S. Blues" which I listened to twice. :) Have a great Independence Day celebration while keepin' safe! I'm glad that you joined the 4M on the dance floor, my friend.

Great choices! I'm surprises more people didn't share "Born in the USA." The Keb Mo version of "America of Beautiful" might be the best I've ever heard. Happy 4th.

WOW! Then to wind it all up in all of its greatness The Army Band & Choir. Dang Dude, amazing stuff! You really out did yourself this week for sure. Thank you so much! Hendrix has been posted a few times and that Keb Mo I don't think I ever heard him before & I love the blues. He was great! Thanks for sharing that one for sure! Grateful Dead's tune I heard before because my hubby is a musician and he has friends in a band called, "The Dead Guise" is what they call themselves & we go see them all the time. My favorite...? Well, beyond a shadow of a doubt Keb Mo... in "America the Beautiful", just awesome. Thanks for sharing & have fun & be safe on the 4th my fellow American! hugs

Damn, but Jimi can play guitar. This is not one of my fav versions of Star Spangled Banner, but gotta give Jimi his props!

Never heard Keb Mo; I'll have to binge Utube him. Liked it.

FAV fav fave thous is the Army Band. That is so beautiful. Make my Air Force being want to stand and salute.

Thanks for the selections. Have a great week.

Hey Mike,
Hope you had a great 4th! Fabulous set of patriotic songs here! I never heard the Grateful Dead's U.S. Blues and I really like it. Thanks for including it!
And it was cool to see Keb Mo here. I was turned on to him for some Cajun friends...

Have a great week,

I've seen Jimi endrix on several blogs now - when he plays it is like he is channeling someone from a different dimension - that's just how it seems. The Grateful Dead song was an interesting surprise - but Keb Mo, totally new to me, where have I been? Fantastic playing and singing. I hope you had a good week!

Not much of a fan of either the Dead or Springsteen, but I loved the Keb Mo song because, hey, it's Keb Mo, and I don't think you can get much better than "The Stars And Stripes Forever," especially when played by a military band. Or the Boston Pops. Neal Schon's version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" rivals Hendrix's, by the way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11L9lRGu4Nc Good set here!
