Yes I celebrate Jimi Hendrix on my blog when I have the chance. I mark his death and birthday. Today Jimi Hendrix would have been 71. To celebrate his birthday I offer up Hendrix performing covers. I know I am only going to share a handful so if you have a favorite one feel free to share.

Celebrating Sam Phillips Birthday

Today is the 90th birthday of the late Sam Phillips who is best know for being the founder of Sun Records and Sun Studios in Memphis. He was a person very influential in the birth and rise of Rock N' Roll in the 1950's. He was obviously a business man, a record producer, record executive and DJ. He and Sun brought artists like Johnny Cash, Howlin' Wolf and Jerry Lee Lewis.
