A Southern Rock legend, a link to an era and one of the greatest bands to ever come out of Jacksonville, Florida has passed away. His legacy will live on in tribute bands, current country and rock bands. He will be missed by his family, friends and fans,

Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the old southern rock bands that only rose in presence in my mind many, many years after adulthood. In fact, I think it wasn't until I began blogging that my attention turned a serious ear of appreciation for groups such as this. The music of this classic sound is forever immortalized for the enjoyment of generations to come. Prayers to the family and friends of Gary Rossington.
