Monday Music Moves Me: 9.11

Running late on this one. I always try to remember 9.1 on my blog. Monday Music Moves Me allows me to give a musical twist to that tribute.

Everyone in this blog hop probably has this Alan Jackson song..

How about this National Anthem performed for the first time after 9.11 at Shea Stadium in New York..

Sang by Marc Anthony.

I think on a day like today less is more.

Mike,

Gr8 song selections to pay tribute to the fallen Americans and other citizens of the world who perished on such a bleak but otherwise beautiful September morning that now seems so far away but remains ever close to our hearts.

I believe we should always stand when our National Anthem is sung. It disguises me to see how athletes and other celebrities show their defiance of the American flag and the country they call home. America isn't purrfect but she's the greatest nation in the world! God bless America forever!!

I think most of us posted the Alan Jackson song because it is so perfect. And, I remember seeing that Mets game (on TV) it was an emotional experience, as I grew up in New York City and had a summer job in walking distance of the World Trade Center.

Hi Mike,
Great 9/11 tribute post. I love Alan Jackson's song. I think almost all of us included his song in our posts. And I love that you presented the first time the national anthem was performed after the tragedy. Very moving.

Have a good weekend,
