Last night's Super Bowl proved the saying "Defense Wins Championship." The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13,

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champions
The Patriots were shutout for three quarters. Teams will tweak their rosters in the offseason with the draft, trades and free agents. Some players will retire. Seattle will hope to defend their championship; New England will hope to challenge again. Stay tuned for the next season stating in August.

Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In the end the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady and myself all won championships. I won my fantasy football league and Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. We all get bragging rights, but they get a ring and big bonuses. Sadly I do not.
I was hoping for a close game. The greatest quarterback against the elite quarterback of today.
Highlights...
Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs for making it to the big game. They have been to two in a row. Tom Brady continues on after earning ring number seven. Five Super Bowl MVP Awards is very impressive.

Congrats to the New England Patriots
Been out of town for a bit so starting to post about things that have happened this month. The Super Bowl happened Sunday night. I caught the fourth quarter f the game at a pool side bar.
Highlights from the game..
Highlights from the game..
The Patriots didn't have a dominant season. They put in another gear for the playoff and Tom Brady will get his sixth ring.
You can hate him all you want. However, in the clutch Tom Brady is the best in my opinion. In this game credit needs to go the defense holding a potent offense to just three points. In the fourth quarter it was not Tom throwing the pick or missing the late field goal. The Rams didn't help themselves and the Patroits beat them.

What a Super Bowl
What a Super Bowl! The Atlanta Falcons played very aggressive and for a while were dominating the game. Lady Gaga performed a solid halftime show. The New England Patriots rallied back and won the game in overtime! What looked like it could be a blowout turned into quite an exiting game.
Enjoy some highlights..
The Halftime show..
Was the game what you expected? Did you enjoy the Halftime shoes? What was your favorite commercial?

Thoughts on Cam Newton
Cam Newton is taking a lot of heat about the Super Bowl. Certainly one could criticize him for not diving after the fumble but perhaps he lost track of the ball. Maybe he felt it was too late to dive in after it.
He is taking even more heat about walking out on the press conference after the game. Obviously he didn't want to be there but the NFL requires it. First it is disrespectful for the interview to take place where he can hear interviews from other players on the other team. Trust me there is plenty of space under the stadium top prevent that.
He didn't say he wanted to go to a strip club or drink a lot of beers. He did say they were outplayed. He was upset he had a bad game, his team lost, and it was on the biggest stage. You want a player who is upset in that situation. The interview questions weren't great, he said they were outplayed and he left. It is better to do that then say something emotionally that wouldn't be very nice. Rip him for that all you want but I think he may have done the right thing.
No he wasn't dabbing, dancing or celebrating. The Denver Broncos defense took care of that. If a team doesn't want to see him do that be like the Broncos and stop him. Manning had an awful game too. However his team won.
I like that Cam Newton has fun win he wins or makes big plays. The NFL is big business but it is a game! He doesn't like losing. He is upset when he does. That is understandable. Do the interview in a better setting. Journalists when the interview is ended or going nowhere end the interview.
Cam Newton is a new generation player. He brings excitement. I love that he gives the footballs to young fans. He is involved in lots of charities. Maybe he could have handled the loss with more class but maybe the press could have handled him with more class. There is always another perspective.

Thoughts on the Super Bowl
I thought the New England Patriots were going to win before the game. I wanted a better game than last year's Super Bowl. I went to a local barbecue restaurant to watch the game with my daughter who was looking forward to Katy Perry at halftime!
14-14 at the half. My daughter glued to the television during the halftime show! I was hoping for more of Lenny Kravitz. It was a short and sweet show! I think she did a great job.
My daughter watching..

From the kids say the darnedest things file: A Seattle Seahawk player did not make a catch and my daughter says "he has butter fingers like me!" I have never used the term butter fingers around my daughter so I suppose she has picked that up from school. I did find her comment funny and thought she may have a career in the booth.
In the third quarter I thought Seattle might pull away from the Patriots when they took a 24-14 lead. When the Seahawks scored on the drive off of a Tom Brady interception I thought you can't make mistakes like that against the Super Bowl 48 Champions.
However, Tom Brady led New England back. Seattle drove down the field helped by a crazy, circus catch that was more luck than talent.
It ended on an interception when Seattle decided to pass the ball instead of run the ball in from the one. Most people called it dumb play calling. However, if it was a touchdown pass no one would call it dumb. So it was an entertaining finish, the game came down to the last seconds. I had great company with my daughter and plenty of boneless wings. It was not a bad Super Bowl at all!

Super Bowl Thoughts
Power Outage:
The lights should never go out during a Super Bowl. Here is the most thought provoking post I have seen on the subject. It kind of puts it all in perspective...

Ray Lewis
What a fitting way for Ray Lewis to end his career with a Super Bowl ring. He was an incredible linebacker for 18 seasons.
Joe Flacco
We have all heard this debate before, is he an elite quarterback? We heard this with Eli Manning before he won a Super Bowl. To start with any starting quarterback in the NFL is an elite quarterback at some level, since their are only 32 teams so 32 starting quarterbacks. That would include some we love to criticize or wish performed better. However, there are some things that help a quarterback out such as better offensive lines, a solid running game, and talented receivers. Joe will be better respected now since he lead a team to a Super Bowl Championship. The win and the MVP Award certainly help. Is he at a Tom Brady level or Peyton Manning level? Time will sort that out, I don't think he is quite there yet but I think he up there with the likes of Eli Manning and one of the better quarterbacks of the 32.
Congrats to the Ravens
Congrats to the Baltimore Ravens for winning their second Super Bowl. They had a great run through the playoffs. At 10-6 I did not think they were going to win the Super Bowl but they did and they deserve a lot of credit. They dominated the first half. They lost momentum after the power outage but they were able to hold of the 49ers.

Super Bowl Time
Te Super Bowl is so much more than just a football championship. Thirty second television ads going for 2.5-3 million dollars a slot proves the Super Bowl is big business. The game pits two football powers with great Super Bowl legacies with the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game is more than football as the Black Eyed Peas will perform at half time. The Super Bowl is a sports, entertainment, and business empire at it's peak.
However, is the Super Bowl about to decline? Next year their is the possibility of a lockout or a strike. Games could be loss. The season is n jeopardy. How will fans react to a shortened season? How will they react if a season is lost? Will the Super Bowl decline? These are the questions the NFL will have to address after the game. Especially if an agreement can't be worked out soon. The NFL both players and owners have so much at stake.

One Week Until The Super Bowl
The Super Bowl has the potential to be a dady with the two best teams in the NFL meeting. The Saints and the Colts. Manning Vs Brees. I am ready for this game! Also The Who performing at half time. A great football game with a great band playing at halftime. I can't wait.
I think I pointed it out in this blog I have been writing on the Tim Tebow Fan page site for a while. I did write an article about his Super Bowl Commercial. The latest article I wrote about tIm Tebow is about his performance at the Senior Bowl.
Well thats the blog for today, good bye January welcome the new month.
