R.I.P Jeff Beck

Jeff Beck without a doubt was one of the greatest guitarists ever.  An artist I saw several times, the last time being September 30th. He is the reason I bought a Fender Stratocaster and an artist I have featured numerous times on my Battle of the Bands. Jeff was in the Yardbirds and had an incredible solo career. He played sessions with a who's who list of artists.

Jeff Beck an influencer, a creative artist, and a guitarist who's music will live on.

Monday's Music Moves Me:Songs About Love

Let's dance, rock to songs about Love. The theme for Monday's Music Moves Me.

Tina Turners asks the question "What's Love Gotta Do With It?"

Well I guess Queen knew we need "Somebody to Love"

Then we are silly like the Yardbirds "For Your Love"

The Who knew "Love Ain't for Keeping"

Because "Love Hurts" from Nazareth

There it is Love in five songs. Not a Taylor Swift "Love Story"

Hope you enjoyed see you soon!

Happy Birthday Jeff Beck!

What a week for musical birthdays! Yesterday I celebrated Robert Hunter's birthday who contributed to so much music through the words he penned for them. Today I celebrate a guitarist who contributes so much to music through the notes he plays, Jeff Beck,

I celebrated his 69th birthday with this post last year. More music there, I will try to do a no repeat post here.

This cover of Sam Cooke tune is very appropriate for these times as well..

How about this version of "Because we ended as Lovers"

Lets go way back to The Yardbirds with "Heart Full of Soul"

A lot of music scanning six decades. What are your favorite Jeff Beck tunes, riffs, groups?

The Creative Outlet of StratPlayer

Alex J. Cavanaugh

This round song:

"Train Kept A-Rollin'" by Tiny Bradshaw. I actually was able to get the original version this time!

It is October and some have referred to the month as "Rocktober" and with that in mind I present the contestants,

The Yardbirds

VS

Aerosmith

Why this song?

Rock lore has this song as the first song Led Zeppelin performed together. Personally it was one of the songs I searched out after being turned onto Led Zeppelin and seeing where they came from and who their influences were. It also introduced me to the playing of Jeff Beck.

Listen, enjoy, vote in the comments. Visit the other blogs. Come back and visit!
