Reston Commuity Players Next to Normal

Over the weekend, I watched some theatre that didn't invlve subtitles and a production I actually wrote a review about. I caught a very entertaining performance of Next to Normal by the Reston Community Players. They gave a great effort, had a super group of musicians performing the music, and put a lot of heart into the prduction. You can read my review here.

The musical deals with mental illness and the family and has a rocking score. Even though it deals with a serious issues there are a few great one-line zingers in the script.

Here is a clip from the 2009 Tony Awards...

Well I will keep this one short and sweet and I will be back with a new post soon!

The Savannah Disputation

Well the first play I covered this year was The Savannah Disputation. Like always it is neat to see a different play, at a different theater, and put on by a different production group. This time it was The Reston Community Players who put on their performances at the Reston Community Center. What a complex! The theater was beautiful and the rest of the facilities were really neat. Here is a link to my review.

The clip below was about the play's New York debut..

It was a good time full of laughs as it questioned the difference between the religion beliefs of the charecters. It has been a light month for me seeig performances, but I will be back next month covering a lot of good stuff and maybe some itnterviews.
