Saturday's match up Clemson at Georgia. LSU and Wisconsin on Saturday. Here is how I have them ranked. Follow all season long to see how they finish.

1) Florida State University Seminoles The defending champions get to hold on to the top spot. They open the season taking on Oklahoma State in Arlington, Texas on Saturday.

2) Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama has been a consistent contender for years. The Tide hope to roll opening up against West Virginia in Atlanta on Saturday.

4) Oklahoma Sooners The Sooners start things off against Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Representing the Big 12.

5) South Carolina Gamecocks The Ole Ball Coach has been fielding solid college teams for year. This year's squad looks to be another good one. Opens the season Thursday hosting Texas A&M.

6) Ohio State Buckeyes I would have ranked Ohio State higher possibly second if their starting quarterback was not injured. Ohio States starts the challenge of their season meeting Navy on Saturday in Baltimore.

8) Stanford Cardinal Stanford will be a challenger in the PAC-12. They open up with a cupcake game against UC-Davis.

9) Michigan State Spartans Might be a dark horse in the Big Ten but with the Buckeyes injury they might be a contender. Open the season against Jacksonville State which won't show anything.

10) Georgia Bulldogs open the season with a true test against Clemson on Saturday.

11) UCLA Bruins visit Virginia on Saturday. A PAC-12/ACC early season showdown.

12) Baylor Bears open against SMU on Sunday. A Texas show down early.

Anyway..NFL the Jacksonville Jaguars

You can read my recap of today's game here. If you like the Bears you will love it. If you like the Jags, well they are not providing anything good to write about. The week before they lost to Cincinnati you can read that recap here. Highlights on the earlier game here..

Down a level to college football...

You can read my latest college football rankings here. I have added a poll question to my ranking as well trying to give it a fresh twist.

Florida Gators

The Florida Gators surprised LSU on Saturday. You can read my review here. I think the win helps Will Muschamp's job security. The week before Florida did not play. Here are some highlights from that game...

Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech is the other team I cover, they lost this weekend to Clemson. You can read my recap here. Here are some highlights from that game...

This week's football

To many deaths lately so at least there is football...

The good news is my fantasy football team came back from the dead and I won this week! Considering the week before I was blown out and lost by the most in the league.

Talking about big losses, the Florida Gators got a hurting from the LSU Tigers. You can read my break down of the Gators here Florida Gators crushed 41-11 by LSU: A fan's reaction.  You can read a happier reaction from Patrick Johnston here. I linked one of his articles in last week's blog before the game as well.

I am have linked articles by other authors in the past in my blog but they have been far and few between. So, I am trying to link a few more. Especially, when the articles are good and share a different perspective on the subject which Patrick does and he writes for the same outfit as I do.

The Gators were not the only college team in Florida to have a bad weekend. The Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles both lost. No team from Florida was ranked for the first time since 1982. You can read my opinion on that here. I agree with the pollsters since I don't have any Florida teams in my rankings. You can check who I do have ranked here.

Stay tuned for more ramblings....

College Football, Mostly Gators

Been a busy week writing a lot of college football articles.First I have my college rankings for this week. It was hard not to put Alabama number one. Here is my ranking. I am not going to reveal a lot but I am sure there are some surprises in it.

Then I wrote about the Gators falling to Alabama, you can read it here. The Crimson Tide sure did make their case for number one. I moved them up to number two. Below are some high lights.

Then I wrote about the Gators quarterback being out when they face number one LSU. You can read that here. To give another point of view here is a story by a colleague on the same subject but from a Tigers fan point of view. Patrick Johnston appears to be a pretty true LSU fan so it should be a good read.
