It is the Holiday's and I decided to give Monday's Music Moves Me a shot. The theme is Christmas Songs and I kind of put the twist or not on it.
J.J. Grey "Santa Claus, True Love & Freedom"
Really any excuse to share J.J.'s music is a good one. The song got me thinking about Christmas songs that might not be Christmas tunes.
Fleet Foxes "White Winter Hymnal"
from Neptune's Daughter "Baby, It's Cold Outside"
Dean Martin "Let it Snow"
What are some other Christmas Songs, might not be Christmas Songs?
Hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays!
Interesting mix.
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you took me up on my invitation to join us on the 4M dance floor this week. Your first song pick is an introduction. I'm saving this one as possibility to use in next year's Christmas song a day challenge. I think Fleet Foxes, "White Winter Hymnal" I've heard before. Our youngest daughter tuned my ear to this band several years ago. I hadn't heard of Neptune's Daughter but I was pretty sure in this clip the male actor was Ricardo Montalbán and it turned out I was right. Now, I may have to see if I can find it to stream. The credits listed Red Skelton, so I guess it's a funny movie. :) I love Dean-O!! Thanks for sharing some wonderful new and old Christmas tunes. Have a joyful Christmas season, dear friend!
beautiful classic Christmas songs, you cannot go wrong with music like this. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe first two songs were new to me. I liked the beat of the J.J. Grey song. The Fleet Foxes - I didn't know what to think at first, and then I finally got it. Funny that today I got a holiday letter from my 97 year old uncle (my last uncle) and my last aunt, who is a few years younger than he is, explaining his current conditions. It, combined with that song..so poignant. If only I could turn back time for him... Thank you for sharing this and the two classics.
ReplyDeleteA couple of non-Christmas Christmas songs would be "Frosty The Snowman" and "Sleigh Ride." These were a few good ones, though.
ReplyDeleteI love that version of Baby, It's Cold Outside.
