A to Z Challenge: Orioles, Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore the city where I watch my first Major League Baseball game. I came to the area at the right time for some great talent.

The place I saw my first game and several more through the years...

Eddie Murray provided many memories..

Of course there was Cal Ripken Jr..

Here are some highlights from 2000-2015...

Do you like baseball? Where did you see your first Major League Baseball game?

  1. Mike,

I'm not much of a baseball fan but when I was a kid I loved watching the locals teams play. Living in southern WV there wasn't a whole lot for us to do, so sporting events was a great pastime. I played baseball and softball with the neighborhood kids but wasn't really good at it but I had loads of fun. One time I caught a fly ball (softball) without a glove right against my chest and brother did that ever sting!

  2. I've never kept up with baseball much, but I've been to a few games here and there. My first was the Cleveland Indians when I was very young--sometime in the mid-fifties I guess. I've been to a few Dodgers and Angels games since moving to L.A., but generally I don't go to many events. Going to a baseball game is a lot cheaper than going to see the Lakers though.

  3. Not much of a fan, but I did go to a game with my daughter one years when it was her school's family night.

  4. Huge baseball fan here, Camden Yards is one of two MLB parks I'd really like to visit (Dodger Stadium is the other). My brother was a big Yankees fan and took me to the old Yankee Stadium a few times, in the late 80's-early 90's. The last game we went to was a Yankees-mariners playoff game that went so long his infant son fell asleep, so we left in the 10th inning or so, and I got home in time to watch the game winning run in the bottom of the 15th.

After the Yankees signed Roger Clemens I ditched the "Evil Empire" and became a Red Sox fan. By then my brother was too busy with his kids anyhow.

  5. Not a huge baseball fan. I've been to an Angels game or two. Just because they're local. But a member of my writers group is a huge Orioles fan.
